Abortion is the deliberate termination of a pregnancy. It is when a woman chooses to remove her developing embryo from her body and kill it. This often performed during the first 22 weeks of pregnancy.
Different Methods of Abortions:
There are three different methods of abortion: surgical abortions, chemical abortions and partial-birth abortion. Surgical abortion is when a doctor uses instruments to enter the uterus form the cervix, the doctor then removes and kills the preborn baby. Chemical abortion is a non-surgical method which administers drugs (liquids or pills) intended to induce labor and kill the baby either before or after delivery. Partial-birth abortion is when a woman forced into the labor and the doctor inserts his hand into her uterus and grabs the baby by its feet. He then pulls the baby out of her womb only leaving its head and neck inside of her, a sharp object is jabbed into the skull or back of the neck. After the doctor is certain the baby is dead, it is removed completely from the mother womb and discarded.
Some Chemical and Surgical Methods are:
Salt Poisoning (Saline Injection): A long needle injects a strong salt solution through the mother's abdomen into the baby's area. Not only does the baby swallow this fluid and it is poisoned, its outer layer of skin also burns off too. Within a few hours the mother delivers a dead or dying baby.
Dilation and Curettage (D&C): A hollow tube with a hook shaped knife is inserted into the uterus and cuts the baby into pieces. The pieces are then vacuumed or scraped out through the cervix and disposed of.
Suction Aspiration: This method is commonly used in the first 3 month (12 weeks) of pregnancy. A hollow tube with a knife-edged tip is inserted into the uterus with a vacuum attached to it. The Vacuum is so powerful that it rips the baby and placenta into tiny pieces which are sucked through the tube into a bottle and discarded.
Dilation and Evacuation (D&E): A pair of tongs/pincers is inserted into the womb which grabs part of the unborn baby. The pongs twist and tear the bones of the unborn baby; this is repeated until the baby is completely torn limb from limb and removed from the uterus.
Prostaglandin Chemical Abortion: This form of abortion uses chemicals developed by the Upjohn Pharmaceutical Co. which cause the uterus to contract intensely, pushing out the developing baby. The contractions are more violent than normal, natural contractions, so the unborn baby is frequently killed by them -- some have even been decapitated. Many, however, have also been born alive.
Hysterectomy or Caesarean Section: This method is used when the baby is almost 8 months due. From the abdomen area, the umbilical cord is cut while the baby is still inside the mother. Without the umbilical cord the baby has no oxygen supply and will thus suffocate.
Partial-Birth Abortion: The baby's leg is pulled out into the birth canal showing its body but not the head. Scissors or a sharp object is jabbed into the baby's skull and a suction vacuum is inserted which sucks its brain out. The dead baby is then removed and tossed to the side.
